In The Ghost Archives, you play as an agent from S.O.U.L. with the task to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances in Shady Valley and set those lost souls free. Despite the story’s lack of originality, the story develops in an intriguing manner. You will get to meet many characters, many which are smartly-crafted; still, we believe that the we would be much more interested if these characters have voice overs.
As suggested by the title, The Ghost Archives is a horror casual adventure with creepy settings. The developers did a fine job on building the spine-chilling environment featuring good graphics and ominous soundtracks. However, we found some of the scenes to be unnecessary dark. Luckily, all of the hidden object scenes have nice lighting so spotting objects should not be a problem.
The gameplay in The Ghost Archives is generic but safe. While there is absolutely nothing really innovative or anything worth noting, the game flows very smoothly. The difficulty of the puzzles ranges from easy to difficult, none of them is truly original though they are still fun and can be tricky to solve.
